Basketball Defense Techniques
Defense is one of the tactical techniques, which can be personal or zone defense. When a team goes into zone defense, each player of the team that is defending tries to block any player of the opponent. Personal defense is based on blocking the actions of a specific player, attached to a specific player from the other team. Pressing is used to suppress very active players. Pressing is carried out throughout the entire playing area, both at a large and small distance.
Evaluation of individual play is carried out according to such objective indicators as points, blocked shots and rebounds. Subjective indicators are also evaluated - throws, passing, feints, dribbling. Throws at the ring are the key moment of any attack and in most cases they lead to points. Passing is very important, and it is important that the player passing the ball does not look at his addressee. Feints are false distracting movements of the body or the ball and are used to distract the attention of the opponent. And finally, dribbling is the ability of each player to move the ball around the playing court.
