After inaugurating Arogya Sandhan Pathological Laboratory & Doctors’ Clinic at Naresh Bina Sevayan, 67B, New Santoshpur Main Road, Kolkata – 700 075, Mr. Niranjan Biswas, General Secretary of Arogya Sandhan Santoshpur, went to Indian Bank, Guwahati Branch on 29th June’2005. Two college of Mr. Biswas with their challenged children went to Guwahati. Both the parents got notice from their respective landlord that challenged children’s are curse of god and bad omen and they were given notice to vacate the rented house. This incidence of branding challenged children are curse of god caused a lot of mental agony to Mr. Biswas. He could not sleep for 2-3 nights. Finally he decided to mobilize social organizations and common people for awareness through distribution of leaflet. Finally he conducted a seminar on “Problems of challenged children and role of the society” at Sudmarson Hall of Cotton college, Guwahati on 4th December’2005. On the request of parents of challenged children under the PASS, Mr. Biswas wrote to Govt. of Assam and finally PASS got land cleared by the Divisional Commissioner, Guwahati, Assam. This becomes a Guwahati model and in 2007 with the help of Late Anil Kumar Jana, Arogya Sandhan Charitable Trust came into being. Arogya Sandhan Charitable Trust has been running a Dream home for lifelong care of mentally challenged persons (so called orphan) who are deserved warmth of love & affection of their parents in their life at Arapanch Mission Gate, Sonarpur, South 24 Parganas Pin – 700 150. These mentally challenged persons deserve continuous support for their lifelong leaving and Arogya Sandhan Charitable Trust never ventures for Government project fund thus ASCT as established VTC Arogya Sandhan Perfume Academy to generate surplus for financial sustainability.
